Sharing queue files with others There are many ways that you can share queue files with others. You can post a queue file on a Web site, email it or even copy it to a CD and distribute it. In order to make it as easy as possible for others to download the same files, they should also have a copy of SpiderMonki installed on their system. Once they have the queue file, all they have to do is load the queue file, select the appropriate queue check boxes and click the Process Queues button. How you prepare a queue file is up to you. queue.spi files are editable with Notepad or Wordpad. You can leave it "as is" or customize it for specific URLs. Referring back to our example on page 5,
if you wanted to create a custom queue file with 3 image URLs, the queue file would look something like this:
-image
The -image line tells SpiderMonki to add the URLs to the image queue. The -end line tells SpiderMonki that it's the end of the file. If you wanted to create a custom queue file for two sites containing dinosaur clip art, the queue file would look something like this:
-site
... or like this:
-page
You don't have to specify anything else for other people to use customized queue files. It will use whatever destination folder and other options they select. |
